ZaZi STORY

On 03 Nhlangulana / Seetebosigo / June 2003, Prince Zanda (Augmentation) was born. At that time, there was already a deep yearning to completely move away from any Eurocentric or non-Afrikan thought, belief and behaviour. There was also a deep seated urge to rise above my Zulu ethnicity and accept the blessings of my Kemetic (Afrikan / Mbo / Ntu) origins. Therefore, I gave the Prince his second name, Khumo (Wealth) in Setswana. Two and a half years later on 31 Masingana / Ferikgong / January 2005, Princess Zinhle (Beauty) was born and to continue the tradition, she was given her second name, Palesa (Flower) in Sesotho. The inevitable quest to unlearn colonial and religious indoctrination / subjugation had begun. In Nhlolanja / Tlhakole / February 2005, ZaZi came into existence, to usher in an era of Afrikan Indigenous Spirituality and Enlightenment.

The name "ZaZi" is a synthesis of the first two letters in the names, ZA-nda and ZI-nhle. The word ZaZi is a Nguni word which means, "Know Thyself", "Ikitse" in Setswana.

ZaZi - Know Thyself (Pty) Ltd, with registration No: 2020/934484/07, was registered on 21 Zibandlela / Sedimonthole / December 2020. ZaZi conducts research and provides education on Afrikan Indigenous Spirituality, Culture and Philosophy to Afrikans on the Afrikan Continent and in the Diaspora. ZaZi also conducts Spiritual pilgrims and ceremonies to align Afrikans with their Ancestral modus vivendi (ritual and customary praxis).
